About Brightspark

Brightspark is a free job finder for people working in technology in Bengaluru, and for remote roles open to people in India. It is run by BrightSparkHQ, an independent project based in Bengaluru, India, and is not part of any recruiter, staffing agency or job board.

Why it exists

Looking for a tech job in Bengaluru usually means checking the same few portals every day, wading through reposted and expired listings, roles at the wrong level and postings from agencies that hide the employer. Good roles posted only on an employer's own careers page are easy to miss. Brightspark goes to the source instead: it collects openings directly from employers' career sites, removes duplicates and stale listings, and ranks what is left against each member's skills and preferences, with the reasons for every score.

Where the jobs come from

Jobs come from two kinds of source, and every job is labelled with which. Most come from the career sites of employers we have chosen to track, read through the public job feeds that those sites publish. The rest come from open job boards for remote work, where any company can post. We never scrape LinkedIn or Naukri, we follow each site's rules for automated access (robots.txt), and we link every job back to the employer's own page to apply.

Right now Brightspark tracks 71 employer career sites and has 1,240 open roles, refreshed about every 6 hours.

We choose the sources, but we do not check each listing or employer. Always confirm a role on the employer's website, and never pay anyone for a job. Our guide on how to spot job scams explains the warning signs.

What you will find here

  • Ranked job matches for members, scored on skills, seniority, work mode, salary and freshness.
  • Role guides to the main kinds of tech work in Bengaluru: what the job involves, the skills asked for, how interviews run and live figures on who is hiring.
  • The blog, with practical advice on reading job descriptions, salaries, notice periods and staying safe from scams.

How Brightspark is paid for

Brightspark is free to use and built to run cheaply. Its running costs, mainly servers and hosting, are covered by a few clearly labelled Google AdSense ads, shown only if you allow them in cookie settings. We never sell personal data, and nobody can pay to change a match score or where a job appears in someone's list. Our privacy notice and terms explain the details.

Disclaimer

Please read this carefully and proceed with caution.

  • Brightspark collects jobs from two kinds of source, and labels each job with which: the careers sites of employers we have chosen to collect from, and open job boards, where any company can post. Choosing which careers sites to collect from is the only selection we make: we do not check individual listings or employers. Check every posting on the company’s own careers site before you apply.
  • Be aware of job scams. A genuine employer will never ask you to pay a fee for an application, interview, training, equipment or an offer letter, and will not ask for bank details, OTPs or ID documents before a formal offer.
  • Proceed with caution when sharing personal information, and report suspicious postings to the platform that published them or at cybercrime.gov.in.
  • Brightspark is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Brightspark and its makers are not responsible for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, arising out of the use of this site or of any job, employer or link listed on it.
